About Seattle Fun

Hi! I'm Teri, owner, publisher, writer, and photographer of Seattle Fun. My family and I have lived in Seattle since 1995.

I love just about everything about Seattle, and by starting this website I get to visit again all the fun tourist attractions that I enjoyed the first couple of years we lived here.

We take out-of-town family and friends when they come to visit, and many of them we go to now and then just because we enjoy them so much. And now I get to share them with you!

I try to show you not only all the major Seattle attractions, but many of the out-of-the-way places as well. I love to take photos so this website also provides me an outlet for my hobby!

I'm not part of a corporation, and I don't have any professional ties to the travel or tourism industry. I'm a wife, mom, artist, and part-time school teacher who likes to travel, write, and take photos. My father was in the military so I've lived and traveled many places both in the United States and overseas, including the Philippines and Japan to name a couple.

Please enjoy the information on my site. I hope it helps you plan your Seattle vacation, so you not only go home with good memories, but plan to visit us again soon.

Locals are visiting the site frequently too, as my events calendars are some of the most visited pages on the site. If you are local, I hope my site helps you find fun things to do in Seattle.  Thanks for visiting and let me know if you have a Seattle event to add!

Thank you for visiting the Seattle Fun website and welcome to Seattle!

How this website got started

Teaching full time was a job that I loved, but it took it's toll.  Anyone who tells you that teachers have it easy because they have summers off doesn't have a teacher in their family!

I began teaching art part time and I love it!  But I needed to find something else to supplement that income. Something that allowed me to spend more time with our two youngest teenagers who were heading off to college in just a few years. And I wanted to do something I enjoyed that benefited others as well.

My husband suggested that I build a website when he found out about a company called Site Build It!

Uh huh... sure. I didn't know anything about building websites.

But since I didn't have any better ideas, I started reading about SBI!

I learned that Site Build It! can help you turn any hobby, passion, or skill into an online business. You don't need any programming skills, web design knowledge, business savvy, or sales skills. All you needed was motivation!

SBI! helps you find a topic for your site, shows you exactly how to build it, get traffic, and even shows you how to make money with it.  They have all the tools you need to do it all and their Action Guide guides you through the process.

The Action Guide presents a step-by-step process, presented in both written and video formats. All you have to do is follow it. Really! The most successful SBI! owners say "all they did was follow the Action Guide." They don't get sidetracked, or have to guess at what to do next. SBI!'s guided approach helps you reach your goals.

My husband and I now own three websites hosted by SBI! and are well on our way to the day when he can quit his day job and work from home.

Here is a short testimonial from another real SBI! customer whose life has been changed by Site Build It!

"I no longer work from home in the evenings and my income is constantly growing. Right now, it's double what I was making when I was standing behind a chair... I do what needs to be done the most at any given time and the nature of website building is such that I can stop or take a break at any point and carry on when time allows. I can work in my pyjamas and fuzzy slippers and switch from work mode to mommy/caretaker to silly dance partner whenever the mood strikes."
