Kerry Park Seattle is a small, unassuming 1.6 acre park on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill just north of downtown. But this little park attracts hundreds of professional and amateur photographers every month.
Why? Because this is the best place to capture those beautiful panoramic photos of the city! All those photos and postcards with the Space Needle in front of the downtown Seattle skyline were probably shot from right here!

The 180 degree view includes downtown, the Space Needle, Elliott Bay, West Seattle, Bainbridge Island, Qwest Field and Safeco Field in the background, and Key Arena and EMP in the foreground. Looming over it all is Mt. Rainier.

On clear evenings, photographers line the walls, all set up and ready to capture images of the city at sunset. Then come the shots of the city lights with the brightly lit ferries out on Elliott Bay and the Space Needle standing guard over all.
Kerry Park is located at the corner of 2nd Avenue W. and W. Highland Drive. There is no parking lot, but you can park along the street. The upper level of the park is where you can enjoy the view, take photos of the city, rest on a park bench, picnic in the grass, and people-watch. The lower level of the park features a children's playground.

A plaque on a wall reads: "Kerry Park given to the city in 1927 by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry, Sr., so that all who stop here may enjoy this view." The sculpture "Changing Forms" by Doris Chase was a gift from Kerry's three children in 1971.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry!
