A yearly event welcoming the arrival of spring, the Tulip Festival offers activities for all ages including a 2-mile and 5-mile run, bike rides, arts and crafts, a battle of the bands, parade, basketball tournament, quilt show and walk, antiques safari, art fair, salmon barbecue, home tour, wine festival, Deception Pass boat tours, and lots, lots more. But even if all those activities weren't available, the drive is well worth it just to see the amazing fields of tulips! If you've never seen it, don't miss it this year!

For two weeks kids can glide, slide, and ride on giant inflatable rides set up in the Center House. Other activities include roaming clowns, face painting, and other entertainment. A special Toddler Zone is also available. This year free art-making is being offered by Creative Activities/VSA arts of Washington from 11am - 4pm daily.

26th Annual Tulip Run

Skagit Regional Airport in Burlington

A very popular Seattle area race, the Tulip Run is a scenic 2 or 5 mile course that's flat and fast on gravel packed trails. Entry is free to ages 14 and under, and 70 and over.


Anacortes Spring Wine Festival

A Skagit Valley Tulip Festival event, featuring 24 wineries and 6 restaurants.


Hops and Props 2011

An annual event, Hops and Props brings brewers to the Museum of Flight. Ticket price includes gourmet food, live music, a commemorative glass, a tasting guide, and access to the Museum's galleries. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older and valid photo ID will be required at the door.

Seattle Restaurant Week

April 10 - April 21

Restaurant Week gives you a chance to sample some of Seattle's best restaurants at special affordable prices. Over 100 restaurants are participating. During Restaurant Week, chefs offer 3-course dinners for $25 and many of them are offering 3-course lunches for $15. This is the price per person and does not include drinks, tax or tips. Special pricing is available Sunday - Thursday.


Sunday Family Lunch Cooking Classes

Sundays: Mar. 13, Apr. 10

Adults $40; Kids $25; Price includes class, lunch, and recipes
Palace Ballroom, 2100 5th Ave Seattle

Parents and kids are invited to cook and eat together, consuming the fruits of their labor. There will be 75 minutes of hands on instruction and then all participants will sit down to a banquet style dessert. The goal of the class is to teach cooking techniques that families can use for meals at home. The Palace Ballroom will be set up with 5 teaching stations. Attendees will be broken into groups to rotate through the 5 stations creating a snack at each station.

Stations include cocnutty cheerio bars, steamed pork humbow, seared albacore tuna cilantro-avocado quesadillas, and hawaiian style pork and pineapple kebabs.
