The Seattle Mariners baseball team has a loyal, devoted fan base, and is always hopeful for a championship season! The team is a member of the American League West Division of Major League Baseball (MLB). If you're wondering who owns the Seattle Mariners, it's a limited partnership by the name of The Baseball Club of Seattle, LP and not an individual.
From 1977 until June 27, 1999, the Mariners played in the now-demolished Kingdome. Since July 15, 1999, they have played at Safeco Field. The Seattle Mariners logo and name reflect the city's coastal and marine culture.
The Mariners had losing seasons for each of the first 11 years. Their most memorable season was 1995 when they won the Western Division and a playoff spot. Another memorable year was 2001, when the addition of Ichiro Suzuki and a great season by Bret Boone, the all-star second baseman, helped the Mariners break the single season record for most wins in the American League with 116.
The Mariners have made it as far as the American League Championship Series, but have never advanced to the World Series, an unfortunate trait they share with the Washington Nationals and Texas Rangers.
The Seattle Mariners mascot is the Moose. A contest for children 14 and under was held in 1990 to help pick a mascot. The "Mariners Moose" was chosen out of 2500 entries. In addition to hamming it up at the games, he makes several hundred appearances each year at various events in the community.
In 1997 the Mariner's organization created the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame museum which is located at the Baseball Museum of the Pacific Northwest inside Safeco Field. To date there are only four inductees:
No player wearing a Seattle Mariners logo yet appears in the National Baseball Hall of Fame museum.
The Mariner's first winning season occurred in 1991 when they compiled an 83-75 win-loss record. Their record for the last five years:

|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 69 | 93 | .426 |
